Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using ALIAS. By accessing or using the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms govern your use of all ALIAS products, including virtual card issuance, payment processing, and the ALIAS Privacy Protocol.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ALIAS, you agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the platform. Your continued use of ALIAS following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to enter into binding agreements
  • You must comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of ALIAS does not violate any laws applicable to you in your jurisdiction

3. Service Description

ALIAS provides the following services:

  • Virtual Mastercard issuance funded via cryptocurrency (USDC on Solana)
  • Payment processing via the x402 protocol and Solana Pay
  • A privacy pool for anonymous deposits and withdrawals using zero-knowledge proofs
  • A relayer service for processing privacy pool withdrawals on behalf of users

4. Permitted Use

  • Virtual cards may only be used for lawful purchases in accordance with applicable laws
  • You must not use ALIAS for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or any other illicit financial activity
  • You must not attempt to exploit, attack, or otherwise disrupt the platform, its smart contracts, or the underlying infrastructure
  • Automated abuse, bot activity, and rate limit circumvention are strictly prohibited

5. On-Chain Transactions

  • All blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed on the Solana network
  • ALIAS is not responsible for transactions sent to incorrect addresses
  • Network fees (transaction gas) are the sole responsibility of the user
  • Transaction finality depends on Solana network conditions and is not guaranteed by ALIAS

6. Card Usage

  • Virtual cards operate on the Mastercard network and are subject to Mastercard's terms and conditions
  • Cards are non-refundable after issuance; cryptocurrency used for funding is not retrievable
  • Card balances are denominated in USD
  • ALIAS does not guarantee merchant acceptance of virtual cards at all points of sale

7. Privacy Pool

Important — Secret Recovery Notes

Your secret recovery note is the only means to access privacy pool funds. ALIAS has no ability to recover it on your behalf. Store it securely before completing a deposit.

  • Users are solely responsible for saving their secret recovery notes at the time of deposit
  • Lost notes cannot be recovered by ALIAS or any third party under any circumstances
  • Funds deposited without a saved secret note are permanently inaccessible
  • The privacy pool currently operates on Solana devnet (testnet) and may transition to mainnet in a future release

8. Intellectual Property

  • The ALIAS name, logo, and branding are proprietary and may not be used without express written permission
  • The protocol smart contracts are open source and distributed under their respective licenses
  • User-generated transaction data belongs to the user

9. Limitation of Liability

ALIAS is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are not liable for losses arising from smart contract bugs, network outages, or failures of third-party services
  • We are not liable for the actions or inactions of wallet providers, card networks, or other infrastructure providers
  • Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid by the user for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to final and binding arbitration. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
