Common Questions
Answers to the questions we see most often.
How do I connect my wallet?
Install a supported Solana wallet such as Phantom, Solflare, or Backpack. Once installed, click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top navigation. Approve the connection request in your wallet extension. No account creation or email address is required.
How long does card issuance take?
Card issuance is near-instant. Via the x402 protocol, your card details are returned as soon as the payment transaction confirms on Solana — typically within a few seconds. Via Solana Pay (QR code flow), the card is issued once the session payment is confirmed.
What is the privacy pool?
The ALIAS Privacy Pool is a zero-knowledge proof based anonymity layer built on Light Protocol. When you use it, your deposit is split into randomized amounts, routed through the Jupiter DEX (USDC→SOL→USDC), and committed with a Poseidon hash. Withdrawals are unlinkable from deposits thanks to SHA-256 binding proofs. You receive a secret note that is the only way to redeem your funds.
What is the difference between devnet and mainnet?
Devnet is Solana's testing environment where transactions use test tokens with no real monetary value. It is used for development and experimentation. Mainnet is the live network where real assets are transacted. The active network is shown in the app header. Ensure you are on devnet when testing to avoid spending real funds.
What if I lose my privacy note?
Your privacy note is the only key to your committed funds. ALIAS does not store it server-side — this is by design to preserve your privacy. If the note is lost, the funds in that commitment are permanently inaccessible. Always save your note to a secure, offline location immediately after it is displayed.
Which wallets are supported?
ALIAS supports all major Solana wallets via the Solana Wallet Adapter standard: Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, and any other wallet that implements the standard. If your wallet is not listed, check that it supports the Solana Wallet Adapter and try connecting via the "Other Wallets" option.
